Budapest offers accommodations in a wide range from the luxury to the budget hotels. The preferred hotel of the conference is the Budapest Marriott Hotel, the conference venue itself. It has a wonderful location in the very downtown, and looks on the Danube river and on the World Heritage view along it. (See picture in the header above.) A different kind of accomodation is offered by an apartment hotel just 2 blocks from the conference venue.
Shopping streets, museums, the most famous bakery, ruins of the ancient Roman fortress Contra-Aquincum are all within walking distance. Tram line 2 has a stop just in front of the hotel and the line offers a nice ride along the Danube in both directions. The very downtown including the Hungarian Parliament is only two tram stops away. A little walk will lead you to the houses, where John von Neumann or the Nobel prize winner Denise Gabor grew up.
The University Guesthouse located a few tram stops away from the conference building offers comfortable and affordable rooms for students.
